During the creation of the virus Thornicide (NSFW), there were internal disagreements at Redslash on several key programming and design choices. The project was eventually forked and a much smaller team went on to create their own virus based on the source code named Zabre.

Considering itself a sort of 'younger brother' to the virus Thorn (NSFW) that Thornicide was designed to outcompete, Zabre is an eccentric and devious AI preferring to harass users with ransomeware schemes.
