What's better than fresh-baked brownies? Fresh-baked brownies made from scratch! Nothing wrong with the boxed stuff, of course, but there's something very satisfying about making your very own brownies, and today I'm gonna teach you how to make some thick, rich chocolate chunk brownies to enjoy and share, with nothing but raw ingredients!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup of butter
- 1 1/4 cups of sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda
- 3/4 cup of flour
- 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/3 tsp of salt
- 1 1/2 cups of dark chocolate chunks
Recipe:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and prepare a 9x9 baking pan by lightly spraying it with nonstick cooking spray or lining it with parchment paper.
2. Mix together the butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low speed until combined.
3. Mix in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time, and finally the baking soda and cocoa powder. Be careful not to overmix, or the end result could turn out more cakelike than desired.
4. Fold in the flour and salt, then fold in the chocolate chunks. You should end up with a very thick, heavy batter that you can drop right into the pan.
5. Move the batter into the pan, use a spatula or wooden spoon to spread it out to fill as much space as possible, and smooth out the surface.
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, then let the brownies stand in the pan for at least 45 minutes.
7. Slice and serve with a nice cold glass of milk or a generous scoop of ice cream!
And just like that, you have a wonderful chocolaty treat! Just don't try to eat them all yourself--these are seriously thick brownies, after all, and you'll definitely find yourself needing that cool, smooth dairy accompaniment before you're halfway done your first one! And that just makes them all the better, if you ask me!
