Robusta [February 25th 2022]

Suzette Sylvia Ransom - better known as Robusta - was the main villain in Issue #2 of the SPCM comic. For reasons not adequately explored there, this brown panther had her claws in a sizeable illegal drugs empire, and was taken down with some unexpected help from Captain Jaws MacTaggart.

Robusta's appearance in the comic was foreshadowed by various posters dotted around in one or two early panels. This particular piece was based on one of them, and was done as a gift for my other pal DynamiteTwins, with whom I'd originally developed the character. Robusta has since taken on a life of her own, with Jordann developing her into more of a heroic character - sort of his take on a 70s blaxploitation vigilante heroine.
Incidentally, Robusta's name was developed from those same roots (Robusta is a type of coffee - as in the film Coffy), and her real name is derived from the middle names of Pam Grier and both her parents.
