I explain that in the story too. See Kimba has a best friend named Zini, who as young adults ends up betraying him. Actually in a period where everyone thought Kimba was dead, Zini got with Nakaii and they had a child. Kimba ended up banishing Zini and then Zini and his daughter Shetanzi, along with three hyenas, started the Outlands clan again.
