The head is being kept alive through electricity and simulated heart pumping.
The commissioner basically got this idea from really, really disturbing experiments that soviet scientists conducted on keeping the body parts of dogs alive.
There's footage from these experiments on youtube but I really can't recommend you watch any of it. It's just too horrible.

That was'n wrong. That dog was just a hero, his sacrifice in the past allowed us to save thousands of lives today. His sacrifice allowed us to build the heart-lung machine, needed for a lot of difficult surgeries and transplants. Also, the sacrifice of other dogs, allowed us to discover the CPR and other resuscitation tecniques that saved even more lives so far. That dog is just a HERO, a real hero!
He didn't choose to be. It was wrong to do that to a helpless animal.
That manner of thinking reminds me of group of people. You might know them as Nazi's. They killed hundreds of thousands of Jews in the name of medical science. I guess you're saying that is okay too? Hell they probably learned something, and it lead to future lives being saved. Yay for the Holocaust!
This comment is old, and I know there are people just like you putting the "O.K." stamp on this kind of experimentation, but I don't appreciate you bringing up such and old subject, when you know you will not change my opinion on it. Nice to know you deem life in the form of an animal less valuable as one in the form of a human. I personally think it shouldn't have happened, and that dog should have never been made to suffer so. It was wrong, and is still wrong for humans to think they can just take life whenever they want simply because our thought processes are more in-depth, and we are capable of speech.

Oh yeah I forgot there are weird people around the world claiming that the life of a dog is more important than the life of more then 100.000 human beings. Everyone has their own ideas AND have the right of keeping them. Just thank this gdog if anyone you know will ever need an heart-lung machine in the future. Because without that experiment they were probably going to die-
i am so freaked out just because i recently was introduced to the wwII era soviet russia video of the severed head of a dog that was kept alive with a pump artificially feeding blood to it... it responded to taste, sound, and touch...i mean, cruel yes but many other experiments were at the time, and are today..anywho im rambling...
regardless i really like this because of the colors as well as the fact that the subject matter makes one feel something/ think... also i love his upheld right hand and the way the lines on the severed head make his smile that much more gleeful

No! i didnt see that one...i saw the one where they explained the diagram (wihch had an eerie resemblence to a cartoon) then showed the white dog reacting to light being shone in its face, citric acid on its lips and nose (it liked it off) and noise where it perked its ears... bizarre...
i mean, at the time when thousands were being killed it doesnt surprise me they killed dogs as well and not many of the experiments made sense or had a real purpose..but ya thankfully its been deemed unethical

It was no dead dog, reanimating a brain dead body is impossible (for now).
The head was surgically detached to research on the today known as Life Support systems. Kidney dialysis also bases on that. Be happy they reseached and invented those things.

*smiles* What an awesome use for science. Where does one sign up? :)
I love the way this looks. Both characters (well, one character and a head ;;)), look great. I love their expressions.
The tubes and spotlights also work perfectly at bring it all together.
Great job all around. :D

So wait... this removes the potential for 1 cock and 1 ass from any potential orgy he could have been in...
Science... what have you done... ~pitches face to the sky with a look of horror, hands tensed into clawed shapes as they're raised up and the camera takes a sky high PoV at extreme close up and pans out with what appears to be some sort of opera music playing.~
