You're quite welcome. Its all much deserved.
I am curious, if I may ask, how much you feel that your school instruction played in assisting you to reach the level of skill that you have.
Surely so much is gained from just the 'doing' of art (practice) .. but tricks.. methods..... *heehee*- a forced regimen of taking you places you might not otherwise :)
I often have considered to take some courses... but I am curious to know what an artist such as yourself may have for commentary on the matter.
I will be looking ever more at your work...

I can most definitely say that the forcing of working in new media (oil paint, printmaking, sculpture, etc.), has helped me become more well-rounded as an artist in general, and have more appreciation for the process that takes place for other avenues of art. As for art media that I tend to predominantly use, graphite and paint, the classes I've taken have been very very helpful in improving my techniques, work with new materials, and basically push my boundaries to realize that I can do a lot more than I thought I could initially. Having supportive, yet firm teachers is also paramount - if they cannot teach you effectively, the class may not even be useful at all.
To summarize, though, yes - having education in the arts has given me a lot of material to work with, and has broadened my abilities and knowledge in how to create art in a variety of ways. Thanks for the comment and question! : )

And thank you so much for the reply!
Well.. I could investigate what's available at one of the local community colleges. Dayton ohio isn't exactly a mecca for the arts. I really want to improve, though I admit finding time is a bit of the problem for me. I respect the time investment it takes, and I can do only so much during conference calls at work *lol*
I really wish i could find a social network here too- art jams are something I used to do at conventions, but have become a rarity in my life these days. Its always fun to have someone to talk to and share with what you do.
So, I just want to say thanks again for the information... its a pleasure to talk with you.
