Ladies’ Friend is a being (or perhaps a variety of being?) that emerged from arsenic mines deep in the hills. Following the highly in-demand use for the substance, she appears near troubled households to rid women of the people in their life that are causing them problems. This can mean those as nefarious as an abusive husband or as innocent as unwanted stepchildren; the target makes no difference to her and she may go after those she’s deemed as “problems” even if the woman in question doesn’t want them harmed. Like arsenic, she can cause death through either a period of worsening illness or an immediate poisoning. If you’re getting scary sapphic vibes you’re right.
