Split Personality [February 21st 2022]
Most of the time, I come up with the idea for a piece of artwork, and then develop a title based on that. Sometimes, though, it's the other way round, especially if it's a pun - as we've established in the past, there's nothing I like better than a truly horrendous pun.
Such was the case with this piece, which takes its title quite literally indeed! I think I'd recently seen a video explaining how the old sawing a lady in half routine worked, and I wanted to do something to that effect. Vikki Scase, sensor specialist onboard the Stellar Typhoon, seemed a natural choice for the magician, considering I have her hobbies listed as film photography and stage magic. Likewise, Blackmask was a perfect choice for the victim - there's enough of her for Vikki to practice the routine on!
