One of my favorite websites is gearedteam.com
I often go there to look up references and knoledge for any kind of geared steam locomotive here in North America. And Davenport did indeed have a line of geared steam locomotives. Here's a direct link to that part of the site.

The Duplex locos are interesting, but I like the 0-6-0s better personally.
Also, I'm not sure if I have seen that movie or not. Could you sumerize it?

A hit man or something is trying to get this drug dealer across the country. I'm not so certain that is it, though. Do a search on it.
But the main point is, toward the end, the main character goes into a diner. It's a diner car. And me and my dad moved it. I'll submit pictures, if you are interested. Its a railroad coach.
Also in our possesion: four Durango & Silverton tenders, a reefer car, a standard gauge baggage car and two Death Valley box cars.

YOU HAVE DEATH VALLY RAILROAD BOXCARS!!?! O_o
I MUST SEE!!!! XD I've been looking for photos of their rolling stock and came up with nada! ^^;
Actually I haven't found much on the DVRR in terms of visual reference.
As for the tenders, what classes of locos are they from? K-28s, K-36s, or K-37s?
And how can you guys get all that stuff!!?!

Their more like work cars with doors wide enough for people, not large items.
DVRR? What is?
The class of the trains using the tenders, I don't remember. But I will tell you when I find out.
The tenders came from auction. The reefer and baggage car are from before my time, so I don't know how Dad got those. The diner car and the two boxcars we just saw them by the freeway, drove in, and asked to buy them. After that, I personally helped my dad move them, one by one.
The Diner came from ten miles out of Superior, AZ, at a sign saying, 'Th Top of The World'. The box cars came right outside of Boron, a small Californian town. We assume they are from Death Valley, because they are only fifty or more miles away from it. And, under the boards, there is still some writing left on the boards. An amazing find.

DVRR is "Death Valley Railroad", just abrieviated.
Based on your description those boxcars sound a lot like outfit cars for MOW trains. Work cars meant to house the work crews and take care of them, such as when lunch time rolls around durring a day of track manitenence.
I'd really try to decifer what the lettering on those cars say. You'd be surbrised how far a peice of equipment can travel.
I believe some of the old wooden passenger cars from the East Broad Top Railroad, (EBT) Wich is a 3ft narrow gauge railroad in Pennsyvania, ended up somwhere in Utah!! O_o
Also, the Virginia & Truckee RR's locomotive #20 "Tahoe" operated in California, yet it ended up on display in the Pennsyvania Railroad Museum accross the street from the Strasburg Railroad!
See what I mean? Statistically speaking those work cars my well be from the DVRR, but you can never eally know for certain until propper reasearch is done.

It went well enough and operated for 20 years. It's pretty conventional compared to the 16 wheelers, Davidson’s Patient chain drive locos and other oddities that were cobbled together by saw millers from whatever was available.
