A couple of pride-themed ideas got suggested for last month's painting, but in the end none of them could quite beat out the new maned wolf lady. Still, it felt like a bit of a shame to skip the theme entirely, especially now that I've actually got more than a single gay character, hah. (Kat is... eh, borderline, but close enough. I'll go into her sexuality in more detail at another time!)
Yeah, it's not much I admit but I still thought the idea was cute, and it's a bit late, but I don't think showing acceptance of our non-hetero friends should be relegated to a single month anyway.
I don't have a lot of experience with non-cis/het folks IRL, I'm a straight dude myself and pretty much everyone I know or have known well IRL is as well. But despite my lack of experience, I hope my little contribution to the theme is worthy!

Agree with showing acceptance or that others care should not just be event/month based, but whenever, it helps <3 for one it spreads awareness and two, it makes me and others smile, that we are accepted, that we are just human
So thank you~
Also I also knew almost nobody who was not cis hetero until I came out and started looking for communities and groups in lgbt, so that is not uncommon to not know anyone IRL (or at least not know, they can still be hiding in the closet ( •̀ ω •́ ))

Oh! I'm talking about Kat!
RL you can be whatever you wish or are, but at least on a 'curious' point of view, it's fun to know.
(I'm always curious what peoples ordination/gender/sex/etc is.. Just like finding out what foods they like and other things like that. Fun to know but they don't effect me. :)

Ooh! Not at all- she was under the influence of mind control in that situation, she wouldn't be caught dead acting so submissive, especially to a male, if she had her choice. :P
But yeah, I feel ya- one of my favorite parts of my job is that I get to learn a little bit about people's fantasies and preferences and stuff each time I make something for them. A little peek into their private mind, always fun, hah.

Honestly the only thing anyone needs to know about "Pride Month" and the LGBTQ community is; What it is, isn't so much shoving any of our identities or ideals down others' throats, but celebrating our differences, as well as the love, and acceptance by those who do support us, and allow us to be ourselves. <3
Just like the furry community, it's not always about sex. Or even gender for that matter; I mean It can be to some people! But most of the time, it's about love, acceptance, and community. ^^
PS: No one irl knows I'm 'gay' but that's because I don't live in an area where it is safe to be so publically. Some of the people you know IRL may still be 'fabulously inclined' but not feel safe to let others know. :3 We are kinda everywhere know it or not. So hey thanks for being a supporter! <3

It's a shame that keeping it so hidden is necessary in some places. But honestly I don't really think that's an issue here... I wouldn't dare say that it's perfect here, but as far as I can tell gay people at least don't have to worry about their safety in my area. I just don't know a ton of people IRL these days so statistically the few I know are more likely to be straight I think, and since every one I can think of is paired off in a hetero relationship the evidence seems to support it. x3
Oh definitely, I'm not sure I have a single straight character. But these two being specifically gay made the idea seem more fun to make somehow. :P Like, with every other character it more feels like I just couldn't be arsed to make a decision on 'em, where as these two actually -are- something.
