Commentary for July 4, 2022:
I’m always a little bit uneasy about a page with no text at all on it. And historically, I think that’s also been true of professional comics creators, too. Looking back at the classic Transformers comic from Marvel, for instance, if there wasn’t dialogue on a page, there’d be narrative captions describing what’s going on. It’s almost as if the writer was afraid to let the pictures tell the story sometimes. But sometimes a picture is all you need to tell the story and any additional text on the page would be redundant. I’m trying to get more comfortable with the occasional wordless page like this.
