Doctor M'Lai Saarath doing her rounds on the starship F.S.S. Pegasus.
I believe this is the first image of her with the correct badge which the medical personnel wear. A pity the iPad had not come out when I drew this because I would have made her PADD look a bit more slick.

ya know... its always nice to see caitians with hair. i mean i picked up a star trek comic long ago of the original crew with kirk and it showed M'ress bald... and i was like "but but, even in the cartoon she had hair!" and then when sto released their caitians... again bald.. which confused me. so hey seeing you do one with hair goldfur is always nice :) that and seeing your art keep it up!
Actually, I can think of some good reasons to have physical buttons instead of a flat touchscreen. Namely, the ability to manipulate the controls by feel, without actually having to look at them all the time. The raised surfaces and shapes of the buttons gives your fingers navigation cues (especially if they have symbols embossed into them) as to which button is which, while the tactile "clicky" sensation when you press one both lets you know you've activated it, and requires a bit of positive effort to do so.
Maybe with sufficiently-advanced nanotech materials, maybe, but it seems like an unnecessarily-complicated way of accomplishing the same thing... (Plus, the "any desired configuration" thing gets you right back to having to keep looking at the button layouts because it keeps changing all the time.)
