Hey now. I used to see such from the back end of an SR-71 doing a low, demonstration pass with full afterburners on. Great picture. Do the T-birds still do that low level fly by that sets off car alarms in the parking lot? I know they had to "Ease it off a bit" in the late 1960s because they were supposedly shattering windows.
they were the T-6's from the original Tora Tora Tora movie that was filmed years ago. we did however have one actual zero there. if you ever get the chance you have to see the gulf coast reigonal wing of the commemorative airforce's Tora Tora Tora demonstration, they have around a dozen aircraft they fly tons of pyrotechnics and are very good at what they do.
Fair enough. For now I'll travel as far as the Chino Air Museum, Yank's America in Flight Museum, and of course the adjoining aircraft restoration facility just to the West of Riverside, CA for my aircraft related adventures. I do miss my earlier days of going to out of state airshows in Arizona and Texas though. Of course an old, dear friend of mine is still trying to persuade me to go to the Oshkosh fly in over in Wisconsin some day.
