my feelings when seeing that one language is the same as the other and that today there should be only 1 language since that only serves to avoid fights

and a question: because Afrikaans is not a dialect, but a daughter language of Dutch?
In my opinion they should be only 1 language, since with 4 Latin languages, 3 Germanic, 2 Slavic and the Greek language, they create a perfect pyramid of Indo-European languages, that is why Afrikaans should not be a separate language because it was only to avoid fights and English settlers came before the Dutch and that's why Afrikaans was created, right?

Sebagai penutur bahasa Spanyol, saya menganggap Asturleones dan Spanyol seolah-olah bahasa yang sama, saya mengatakan ini karena kadang-kadang saya pergi ke wiki di Asturleones dan di sana saya ingat bahwa bahasa itu karena kata-katanya

I have mixed feelings about this.
As a Malaysian, and naturally a native Malay speaker, there are times when I do feel a bit jealous towards the Indonesian language. Indonesian got far more international recognition, and many sites offer a Bahasa Indonesia option, but not Bahasa Malaysia/Melayu. In fact, just saying "Bahasa" alone, people generally meant referring to Indonesian. I actually made an entire journal entry before on DA, expressing all these frustrations due to my jealousy.
Many of my own comics were written in Malay, with English translation available for the benefit of my international readers. Because I wanted to show that the Malay language does exist, and we do speak it in our everyday lives.
For the longest time, I've been advocating for the idea that we should just accept both languages as nothing more than mere dialects of each other.

i don't think we're pretending to be indo-european just for having a huge indo-european vocabulary, which is, very wajar since our former colonizers were IEans who spoke an IE language. If we're playing by that logic, then are M'sians also pretending to be Indo-Europeans for having lots of english loanwords?
On the other hand, i can kind of agree that my language (Indonesian) can be said as a dialect of Malay when it comes to its formal speech. After all, it was used as a lingua franca and/or trade language for centuries.
