Hey remember these guys?

Here they are a year later. They almost didn't make it through the winter indoors. They didn't seem to enjoy it very much, but as soon as the weather warmed up and I put them back out, they just sprung right back to life!
The one in the middle (now on the right) turned out to be a tree, likely an oak of some sort. I don't know how a tree seed got mixed in with my jalapenos seeds since these were literally cut and planted from store bought jalapenos, it must of already been in the dirt I used. It's growing so slowly though. It'll be awesome if I can grow it into a full tree, but seems a bit harder than I thought. Makes me wonder how they survive in the wild sometimes.
Anyways, this might be the last picture of the Jalapenos, as I'm not sure if they will live through another winter. Even if all the conditions are perfect, the jalapenos will still eventually die on their own. The tree should last indefinitely though if I can keep it alive that long.

Very nice Jalapeno plants! If you're able to, you can extend their life for years if you overwinter them with a grow light and keep them warm, like using a heat lamp to keep them nice and toasty. You may need to spray for pests over winter, I use Murphey's Oil Soap (for floors) mixed in water, and then add several cups of rubbing alcohol in a small pump sprayer.
I see, members of the Nightshade family are really fussy sometimes. Some varieties of peppers will tolerate the un-natural climate inside our homes, others will pack their backs for the afterlife xD. I grow a relative of theirs called Angel Trumpets, and they even hate being in a greenhouse that stays around 50F at night, pests galore!
