The ancient beast coiled itself around Ceyre, golden eyes watching every nervous breath she took.
“Are you afraid?” It asked, though already knew the answer.

Ceyre meets a Farvald dragon in dreams!! She’s very distantly related to this one, so their interaction was a lot less scary once she realized that xD

To go into her story a bit, she’s half Farvald, with her uncle and father being full (though sort of an “evolved” version of this ancient one since they’re much smaller and walk on two legs). She has mixed feelings towards this half of her heritage, since Farvalds are magical beings while she can’t use any magic. They’re practically extinct since her uncle, the king, is the last one; most of the past Farvalds interbred with the local gryphon population due to an uneven ratio between males and females.

Her father, the previous king, abused Ceyre due to her lack of magic and draconian features so… yeah, there’s a bit of baggage.
Also, in the Brother’s Revolution, her uncle kills her father and takes the throne, so it’s all better there xD

Despite the hatred she expected, Ceyre was met with a lot of curiosity and love from her ancient ancestor during their dream-meeting. A lot of good vibes here :’)
