This is a set of pencil sketches I did: the one of Charlie looking longingly at the pastel colored foam rectangles on the play mat, and the though bubble inset of little Charlie building the bestest fort ever.
While these are both pencil sketches, I scanned them, and then used my digital art program to inset the one with little Charlie into the other by adding it as a resized layer. This is the only way I could do the detail of the thought bubble without working under a large magnifying lens.
It's just a sketch composition, more of a storyboard, but it captures the memory and thoughts of Big Charlie as he observed the play set waiting for some furry to play with it.
All the picnickers were at their tents having foods while Charlie was walking off his own lunch.
