Back in 2020, I started making a steampunk Victorian anthro series named Hunger - since then I came up with more ideas when I could, so I decided to share them on Furaffinity. :D

Here's my design for the main character, Rose the vampire bat doctor, who uses bloodletting as a medical technique on her patients (inspired by their saliva being used in stroke patients to help their blood flow better) -but in her case, she could taste test if necessary and knows how blood should flow and look normally.

Seen as vampire bats have to drink up to 30% of their body weight pretty regularly to get nutrients they need, I'm imagining she could get up getting pretty sickly and desperate to feed at times and a big part of her character is lamenting her own feeding habits which would become even worse when she and her friend Marrow the Bearded Vulture get framed for a string of murders, with their deduced motives being their feeding habits, when in reality the truth turns out to be far worse.... :(

A lot of her inspiration came from a mixture of Mrs Brisby from The Secret of NIMH (she's a really shy and insecure lady but despite going through a ton of punishment she wants to keep her friends safe), old gothic horror stories, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Sherlock Holmes stories. :D
