The Big Blue Water Tower looms in the distance. As does the local grain elevators and the twin spires of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. As viewed from the Polish Festival/St. Stan's athletic field grounds. Actually had a model rocket crash into the grain elevators once.
The water tower wasn't always blue. Initially, it was a pearlescent blue, then repainted white for over a decade, before returning to the iconic blue scene here. In advertisements, businesses would refer to their proximity to this landmark.
