Essentially her plan is backfiring. The way it works in the story is that the magic changes everyone's memory except for its user, in most cases anyway. So what's happening here is she's getting her wish but her history is being rewritten as well, she's the older sister now but at the cost of becoming a slave. If that helps clear it up.
