Description:
Midorou the green-furred wolf had been residing alone in his own house in a modest neighborhood where Vanilla Tanuki Lucas used to live. It would have been natural to assume they spent sometime as childhood friends, but Vanilla's father was known across the neighborhood as very strict, especially picky on which person the young tanuki was allowed to hang out with. Speaking of childhood, Midorou was locally considered the most agile member in the entire community due to his tendemcy to do parkours even on rooftops, which in turned annoyed many seniors. He also had a knack for Japanese-made video games, with the staff of faux gold he personally crafted to defend himself or his friends from bullies and muggers.
Despite numerous complaints from said bullies, the community saw no issue about Midorou using the staff as his main weapon, considering that self-defense training was deemed necessary against petty yet potentially dangerous criminals. Unfortunately, several years of watching the green wolf roaming with the same staff filled the local bullies with paranoia, most specifically Kawasaki Nendo, the skinny, lazy yet intimidating cat, who had no gall to go after the green wolf by himself. It was also around when Vanilla decided to move out from Japan into the United States, but not without his father's approval, and at some point Vanilla invited a few friends (including Midorou) into his house for a small farewell party. It was also sometime around when Midorou's parents passed away due to a landslide pushing them down the cliff.
And then it came a year since Vanilla's departure. Leading his own gang consisting of local bullies, Kawasaki couldn't stand Midorou too willing to defend the weak and persauded a visiting squad from a local Yakuza branch to eliminate Midorou. In exchange of setting the local neighborhood as the new target for potential criminal opportunities, the Yakuza squad approved the deal with Kawasaki and went after Midorou, who was at the time in the community center, getting scolded by the elders privately over running over their roofs again. Initially manned with wooden posts and baseball bats, the Yakuza squad tried to take down Midorou, and the said elders to their extent, given the latter's willingness to back up their lone defender. However, witnessing how skilled the elders were in martial arts, the Yakuza squad immediately switched to semi-automatic pistols as their last resort, eliminating one by one until they turned their focus back to Midorou. The now-confident Yakuza squad started shooting the defenseless green wolf down, but became insulted when the latter was quick enough to either dodge or outright deflect bullets with his staff. The squad driver was summoned to ram into Midoru, but then the van was abruptly stopped despite its tires still running. The squad was shocked to see someone big, yellow and daring enough to even grab the van, but when the figure threw away the van into a nearby river, the squad realized they were screwed, would they dare to challenge him, and hurriedly left the neighborhood.
On the other hand, the figure turned to Midorou and hugged him, much to the latter's shock, upon recognizing the former's face. The rest of the community, including Vanilla's father (except some of the elders who were already dead), was surprised and amazed by the new changes set upon some familar face, one that resembled Vanilla Tanuki Lucas himself. Vanilla confirmed the said figure was obviously him, everyone (including Midorou and the tanuki father) celebrated his return and held a night festival to honor his year-long return. At midnight, as soon as the local festival came to an end, Vanilla requested himself and his childhood friends be left alone in a local temple for a private meeting, much to the community's ecstatic approval. It was then Midorou and his friends came to learn how Vanilla became that big, it was done through the MALAKAS Project, a muscle growth project secretly conducted somewhere in the Californian forest. After explaining everything he went through, Vanilla unveiled few of the muscle growth syringes to his friends, telling them to inject themselves if they wished to become as big and strong as him.
Among Vanilla's childhood friends whose lifetime desires barely required highly physical work, Midorou had long wished to become a police officer, as he had been doing a lot to the neighborbood, i.e. assisting the children and the elderly, driving away muggers and pickpockets, returning stolen goods, doing patrols on a roof, repairing aging structures, and taking part in community events and festivals. In fact, despite being annoyed by Midorou frequenting over their roofs, many local seniors recognized the potential and efforts exerted by him, and so suggested him to take part as a policeman. Should he do well in a Tokyo precinct, then the higher-ups would be convinced to look into his background and then set up a new station in his neighorhood. Moved with compassion, Vanilla not only gave Midorou a Juggernaut serum, but also gave him a laser gun, much to the wolf's joy.
Meanwhile, the higher-ups of the MALAKAS Project took word from anonymous tips about this, much to their worry and disapointment, having been cautious over dozens of syringes being taken behind their backs. They already warned Christopher North about this once, just few months since Vanilla's departure to the US.
