The Noldo, plural Noldor, is the follower of Aule the Vala of the Earth, and so from him the Noldo learned all the secrets of minerals and crystals and become superb artisan and metalworker. The figure depicted here is suggestive of Feanor himself in the act of creating a Silmaril of which he only created three and initiated an entire age of warfare and suffering for the Elven race in young Middle-earth.
