COMMENT ON MYSELF: This is one of six new images I composed in a series of redesigning some of my older Legend of Foxfall characters. For this one and the ones to come afterwards soon, I went back and emphasized more on blending techniques using the prismacolors, which I think defines these a lot more clearly.
LEGEND OF FOXFALL LORE: Teesha Kumashi is the older of two children of her family. As a child, she became fascinated with swordplay, and when she got older took it up. Her father had at one time served Lord Elkin in the days before Lord Squell came to power. Sensing foul play on Squell's part over Lord Elkin's death, he joined Shade Pathagerus in his moment against the usurper, only to be killed during the uprising that lead to Squell's unconscious state that closed the forest around all of Rodentia. Grief-stricken, Teesha's mother could not bear the tragedy of losing her husband and took her own life as well. Without parents, it fell to Teesha to look after her younger sister, Keesha, the only family she now had left. Both of the fiery haired young squirrels endured a lot of uncertainty and fear during this time while Rodentia's borders were closed off. As the years past, Teesha grew very iron-willed and proved herself to be quite skillful with a sword. Keesha, however, seemed to grow somewhat feeble and relied heavily upon her sister for protection and reassurance. It was around this time that a foreigner to Rodentia had been appointed command of the entire Rodentian army, a squirrel named Toshi Auranagi, who was regarded as the best swordsman in the forest. Teesha spent a lot of her time sparring with this squirrel to further her skills. Toshi became impressed with Teesha's abilities and so had her own weapon specially crafted for her. The soldiers soon began to call her the 'Flaming Rose' because of her bright hair and very brash attitude. When Squell awakened many years later, his vice-magistrate, Faleen, issued an edict to his officers that both Shade Pathagerus and the vixen Vixala were to be returned to Rodentia. Vixala was to be captured alive, but Shade was to be killed on sight. Toshi brought this news to Teesha, who saw it as way to prove herself to her leaders. She gathered a small force of Rodentian soldiers and set out to capture Vixala, but before she could leave, her younger sister Keesha barred her way and begged her not to leave, feeling that she would never come back. Teesha dismissed Keesha's feelings and tried to reassure her that she would be back in a few days. However, Keesha responded angrily to this and cursed her older sister for leaving. Unshaken by her younger sister's words, Teesha set out anyway, leaving Keesha and Rodentia behind. She would be the third of four party attempts to capture Vixala. Teesha's attack would fail and she would be captured instead. Rend Toshiva took custody of Teesha and brought her to Foxfall to stand before Lady Fara, who sentenced her to be incarcerated, but before she could express how long she would be, an even greater matter appeared in her throne room. Ken Sarov and Varis Sivelis of Rodentia appeared and brought Lady Fara the news that the Rodentian army was mobilized and now threatened to march against Foxfall. Rend had to immediately plan a counter attack and wasted no time locking up Teesha within the confines of Falion Tree's dungeons. Teesha sat her in her cell, knowing well that the two factions now were about to collide into one another in a fierce battle. All she could think about was her younger sister, the only family she had left. Was she taking part in this battle too? Would she not survive? For the first time in years, she cried. She now believed that she would never see Keesha again. I could say this is the end for Teesha, but no, this is merely a beginning. Teesha's story goes on between the two stories Prelude of Sorrow and Sins of the Magistrate.
