Born on the same day as Spyro, Astria would challenge Spyro to a race across Stone Hill, until one day Gnasty Gnorc got angry at the dragon elders for calling him a simple ugly creature who poses no threat to the Dragon Kingdom and turned them into crystal statues. Of course, Astria did not take kindly to this and, together with her two fellow clutch mates Toruzo and Izarugi, aided Spyro in freeing the elders and collecting the stolen treasure.

After Spyro played a major role in Gnasty's downfall, the three dragons traveled to Animaltopia, where they became members of Team Star Rush.
