Tattoo Design - Corbie
Corbie approached me a bit ago and asked me to design a tattoo for her. I've never done this before because I'm admittedly a little self conscious about people getting my art permanently etched on their skin (I don't even have any tattoos, myself). She assured me that she thought I would do a good job and along the lines of what she was looking for.
It started out with her wanting an otter in a similar pose to an Ursula Vernon image, but a sea otter instead. Then it slowly morphed into a completely new thing entirely.
Here's the finished concept lineart/shading layout and color suggestion, as well as the completed tattoo she had done at her chosen parlor. I like the highlights he added in, I think it really adds a lot.
She wanted me to mention that once the swelling goes down and she had a bit touched up it will be even better.
So, this is a first for me: My art has never before been on someone's body (that I know of) and I'm happy to have been part of the process!
