Generally drekir voices have rattles, yip, barks and other vocalizations both undercutting and modifying the flow of their voice and speech, so a drek yipping is quite literally yipping their words (or growling, etc.). this winds up giving most drekir a gravelly, rattly type of voice that inflects but tends to rely on changes of the rattle (Speed, intensity, pitch and volume of the rattle) to discern a lot of emotional queues.
And while there are variations of pitch amongst individuals, the lack of sexual dimorphism means the sex of a drek is not really possible to discern by things like voice or physical appearance alone. Generally discerning sex in every day situations comes down more to pheromones.
