This started life as a Standard PT1911. I hated the child-lock hammer, and the big billboard markings on the slide, so I had some work done.
Replaced the child-safety hammer with a Wilson Combat Speedhammer,
Replaced the huge beavertail grip safety with a Stainless standard,
Replaced the slide release with a custom-fitted extended model,
and had the slide, all controls and the factory plastic slim-line grips all Dura-coated in ultra-flat dark green.
I love it! Though it figures it'd be done the day AFTER the big Mob shoot.
Oh, and the brown paper covers my serial number cuz ya don't need it....

Yeah, custom work is a high dollar market since lots of folks would rather upgrade a weapon they already own than buy new. The custom market makes big bucks off people like me.
But if you have to shell out $$ for a smithing education, do yer research and go with the best outfit you can...
