Blackmask Goes Native [November 14th 2021]
Right, does anyone remember Lord Diablo and the natives of Santa Granada? Thought not, but anyway, some months prior to this drawing, myself and a friend - who shall remain nameless - were randomly throwing ideas about one night. One of those ideas was a sort of joke AU, where Blackmask somehow ends up permanently joining Lord Diablo's tribe of natives. We had our fun with it, but didn't really bother exploring it further.
Flash forward a few months, and I suddenly remembered that conversation. Again, more as a joke than anything else, I decided to have a go at drawing Blackmask in tribal costume. All things considered, I think it came out quite nicely - although it would have been nice to give Blackmask some tribal bodypaint to go with the costume. Maybe I'll include that if I decide to do something like this again...
(And yes, that background is recycled from my Castaway Jaws picture. Look, I wasted all my creative efforts that day on Blackmask, alright?)
