The prince had always been a... hard royal to deal with. Always making unreasonable demands, threatening to banish anyone who wronged him as soon as he became king, forcing the common folk to bow when he walked by.
And now he was chained in the throne room as the talking dragon's pet. And according to the dragon, was now the lowest status in the kingdom.
The prince didn't like this and raged and threatened as much as he could, but the dragon is large and patient. After all, it had waited decades to kill the king and take over the kingdom. It could wait for one bratty little pet to tire itself out.
Annalise had been a royal chambermaid for years, had cleaned up after the prince, and been groped by his wandering hands more times than she could count. It was a shock to accidently catch the prince in a private moment with his dragon Master. From the looks of it, the former prince was quite enjoying the attention. And the next day in court the poor boy was curled up in his cushion bed, not causing a fuss.
Whatever the actual ethics were of keeping a human as a pet, it wasn't a servants place to say. But it couldn't have happened to a more deserving brat.
