A part of me knows that he wouldn’t give up in spite of the display I just gave him. That I managed to go up against his strongest pokemon, one that had a type advantage on me and I still managed to beat it without receiving so much as a scratch for the effort. But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t feel more than a little disappointed when he went and pulled out another pokeball and threw it out towards me. This one is a very young pidgey, not even full-sized yet.

“Go away!” I threaten.

But the pidgey doesn’t seem to pay me any mind and as soon as he makes a move at me I close the distance in a minute and bite down hard on the wing, my jaws closing completely as the ball recalls him back into the ball. I then go back to trying to stare down the trainer, all the while hearing Maria in the distance giggling. And like the naïve little idiot that he is, the trainer pulls out a third ball and throws it out. This one I don’t even give a warning but instead blast the little rat the moment it comes out the ball.
