I've got to confess. Outlaw Star is my number one favourite Anime of all time. I have seen nothing that compares to it. Oh sure it's got Space Battles, Giant Robots and a quest for treasures, but there has never been anything else with a sexy, semi "Good" female shape shifter in it.
ya know, the fact that she had such a huge ego (and with a very good reason) is what made her character a WHOLEY unique character. she definitely went against the normal female stereotypes in anime, that's for sure.
to be honest, OLS was filled with alot of unique characters, and quite alot of unique takes as far as the Space Opera genre goes.
