Other Reason There Is Not A Lot Of Art From Me Right Now, exhibit B.
Having a new house being built, and to go inside the glorious atrium/stairwell it also needs a glorious set piece. Being the crazy person I am, I decided I couldn't just have anything there, it is going to be Mewblade. And also, I refuse to let anyone do artwork for me, so thus out comes the old 2010 model of my Mewthree, and begin the rewiring and detailing and god, this is going to take forever.
The plan is to sculpt Mewblade as high-definition as possible, in all her sharp and muscular glory, then basically 3D print her out, and cast her in black aluminum. But, need to make the model first. Phase 1 was the old model, which you can see everywhere, but the untouched parts are on her right side, and phase 2 is mostly her left arm right now. Need to fix up the hand and wrist area. Once the entire body and her blades (will be added later) are all on Phase 2 polygons, then I will convert to a higher poly model, smooth out, then push it until it's a few million polygons. Right now it's wiring the muscles, her base essentially. Later is where all the smoothing and details come in. Normally you'd sort of do this in Blender, and just paint towards the finish line. But I don't have Blender, I have ancient Maya.
Am I insane for doing this? Yes, I am. But dang, this is going to be so cool when she's done.
