I don't honestly see anything terribly wrong with what you've got going here. I've always figured that drawing living things would be much harder than drawing mechanical things. Mechs are full of straight lines and mathematically proportioned curves that can be figured out with rulers and protractors and such. Living things, on the other hand and both squishy (meatflesh) and rigid (skellybones) so you have this crazy nightmare of how a critter can AND can't look going on in the same animal. How does an artist distinguish the two extremes? I've watched cats and dog do some mind bending yoga stuff while trying to groom. Then I see someone's drawing of an animal and my eye can't tell me if it really works or not.

Dunno. Anywhozit, I like how your airship is carrying sails and a gondola that makes me think of a raven's head. Major coolness.

But I don't use rulers and protractors! I'm too lazy/impatient do deal with that kind of technical work!!
The boat itself is actually a modified (very much so) Brigantine! (large 1700's boat favored by pirates next to sloops and schooners)
