After one year of making these cards for the FCN (I'm thinking of rebranding it as Fight Cloud Tournament. What do you think?), there were some of them which I thought the design could use some touch-ups. While these aren't the first cards to be remade (I still can't find the OG one for Niles and Red), these were in my mind for a redesign for some time. In the top are the originals and in the bottom are the new ones. There will be more of these in the future, but for now, I'll start with these three:
Gomez Addams: Originally him and Morticia shared a slot, and the art was a rather poor-quality render of their newest movie (the first one, not the sequel), which looked too generic. Then I found the offcial renders for Mansion Mayhem and decided to split them into two separate slots. While Gomez is dated as the debut of the series, Morticia will be instead dated as the debut of the first animated adaptation of the comics (1973), and probably will use the design of that series instead. Their synergy won't be lost from the split, though!
Balthazor and Tina: From one creepy couple to another, this one I've changed because that "family artwork" is pretty much the only artwork (aside from the What The Fork? poster) that is left from the show, and I thought it was too overused and generic. So instead, this new art is an adaptation of the fianl shot from the series' opening with the Hellmans jumping towards the screen, retroffited so they are doing a similar pose from the OG card, but with much more personality in their facial expressions. Although I wonder if Balthazor's skin looks too dark in here...
John Blacksad: Originally the art was based off the cover art for the Under the Skin game, but the more I looked into it, the more I realized that it was probably not drawn by Mr. Juanjo Guarnido like in the comics, and the fact that his face didn't look quite right, so I've replaced it with a drawing found on the official Blacksad twitter. Although I did run with some issues when drawing the gun (aside from it being cropped YET AGAIN), since the image wasn't HQ and some details were hard to make out. In order to avoid redundacy with other detectives on the FCT, John was left only in his green suit without the trenchcoat, since it's probably more recognizable.
But don't need to worry about the OG cards. They will be placed in an official "discard pile" set, so they won't go to waste.
Properties of Charles Addams, Pam Brady and Juan Diaz-Cañales

Fight Cloud Tournament does have a more competitive feel to it, which likely fits the trading the card format overall.
As for the redesigns, I do see the need to have someone like Blacksad stand out more, and having just his green suit versus including his trenchcoat, would help spotted in a crowd of fellow Noir styled characters....and the irony is not lost on me for being the one making that comment >3>
