TBH I'm still iffy about it but nobody bothered to read the rule, I simply can't afford to ignore commission offers right now and nobody seems to care (especially if it's Sonic characters), so I kinda just gave up on it and went back to "all characters are 18+". If anyone thinks it still goes too far then I apologize but I'm not going back to working registers and scrubbing toilets.

Good call, tbh. People just really need to stop caring so much about the ages of already-unrealistic cartoon characters in pics like this. Not that they're consistent in their crusade anyway--like you pointed out, a curious number of the people supposedly against anyone under 18 being drawn turn a blind eye to the mountains of Sonic fetish art, if not actively drawing it themselves.
As I just commented to Jelly on this thread, I think that’s because Sonic characters are so homogenous age-wise that, outside of obvious children like Tails and Cream, it’s easy to just assume the character in question is of age.
Canon ages complicate that severely, but they’re also mostly mentioned in supplemental material like game manuals, so people could just as easily not realize. Makes it easier to draw/appreciate art like this if you do so blissfully assuming they’re of age.

Ah, right. Yeah, Sonic’s weird like that: the characters do have canonical ages, which can make art of some go into pedo territory, but with all Sonic style creatures pretty much looking the same age regardless of what that number actually is, it’s real easy to just kinda forget.
Tails and Cream are for sure children and off limits, but with art of anyone else, it just doesn’t register to even think if they’re of age or not, I sort of just assume that they are.
