An intrepid traveler on a journey through the lands of Muir'Beinn would come across all sorts of wild and wondrous creatures after the leyline's abrupt surge. Infusing all the plants and animals around the breaches, the pure life energy morphed their bodies into entirely new and unique forms. As the traveler wandered, they wrote down their observations in a journal, later to be bound and published as a bestiary. One of the very first creatures they would ever sketch down in that journal was spotted perched on a dead tree stump by the journal's author, a riot of long trailing stigma like decoration and feathers that looked incredibly like soft swathes of petals. Asking around, the traveler discovered that these creatures had no name yet, so new were they...and so the opportunity arose for the well-educated individual they were to name them.
Thus, the lycaristrix.
A beautiful traditional sketch done in pen on paper from
leilryu for me as a patreon reward. I absolutely love it and can't wait to see more of the wild and wonderful fauna of Eialm!
