In the northern hemisphere of Ravillia sits a great mountain range that stretches from the most northern sea to the center of Ravillia's heart. Throughout the years, the mountain range has been called different names, but its most recent name is Rahfar. It was named such by the dragon Rakant who made his lair into the mountains and claimed the area as his territory. Later joined by his mate Takaani, together they both call the mountain range home in a hidden lair somewhere within the maze of high peaks.
Rahfar prevents passage from the east to west coast, unless it's circumvented by traveling far to the south - adding several weeks to the trip - or using the only passageway through the mountain range. Rakant made this passage as a strategic way of gaining wealth and influence in his earlier years of owning the territory, but later down the timeline Rakant was tasked with repenting for his many crimes by his blood flight. Rakant obeyed to appease the Serva by making a sanctuary at the western end of the passage that would provide a new beginning for people fleeing from varying circumstances. From war to abusive families. Although Rahfar could not be a permanent home for the refugees that are given a new beginning, it did become a home for a select few. The Sanctuary needed protection from the outside, so a wall had to be constructed and a few human families were permitted to settle just between the first two mountains in exchange for building the wall. Two master-class dwarven smith brothers joined the Rahfar family to assist in overseeing the construction of its facilities and to provide the needed equipment. An elven alchemist later joined after being outcast by his brethren, serving as Rahfar's healer. With the wall completed the Sanctuary, built into the mountain, reaches its final stages of development. Lastly, the Sanctuary was in need of guardians, so when five dishonored knights arrived in Rahfar, Rakant assessed them keenly before invading their spirits and morphing their souls to take on an imprint of his own. Thus, the dragon knights were born; bipedal dragons with great strength, capacity for flight, and a history of combat experience.
During the final days of the Sanctuary's construction, Rakant was paid a visit from a red dragon that attempted to claim Rakant's territory. The exchange was brief but the challenger was dispatched, leaving Rakant with a predicament. The red dragon had a clan of Kobolds under his rule. Without a master, the kobolds sought Rakant as their new master but Rakant did not enjoy the presence of servants. Instead, the kobolds were given permission to stay in Rahfar with the other residents in exchange for their service as protectors and to assist with the maintenance of the settlement. Comfortable, Rakant and Takaani left Rahfar alone to develop itself for years, paying regular visits for varying reasons.
Years passed and the kingdoms to the east began to grow in power and aggression. The need to protect Muir'Beinn (the new nation declared by the dragons Rakant and Takaani) grew. As such, a secondary settlement became necessary and so Rahfar's eastern end was developed. Similarly to its western sister, the Rahfar east Sanctuary had a wall constructed with the assistance of Rakant and Takaani. Guards were assigned from the human families as payment for living within Rahfar at no other cost. The dragon knights were assigned patrols to help guard the borders of Rahfar, and to this day the settlement remained untouched by hostile forces thanks to a combined effort.
A final addition to the selective settlement arrived in the form of five Razzalonian Lizards, expert artificers that are capable of crafting mechanical wonders. They were given permission to stay are residents in exchange for their research and services.

Over years of private stories and RP with Rakant, the world of Eialm has seen dramatic changes as the story continued. In the above text is a summary of events that he deemed important enough to mention but certainly doesn't encompass everything the place has been through. As he stated in his own upload, it feels amazing to start giving these locations a visual representation.
