Rodent was just walking along, minding his own business, when he was suddenly snatched up by a sticky tongue. Thinking he was walking somewhere safe, he didn't realize that the normally harmless iguana had been jealous of chameleons, and decided to practice shooting his own tongue out. Caught up in the excitement of actually catching a rat, he decided to go that next step and gobbled him down as well. :D
I love how this one came out. The charming, almost playful expression on the iguana works so perfectly, and the look of Rodent stuck to the tongue and flying through the air, is just adorable. :)
My thanks to BDR for taking on this series, and always doing such delightful jobs with each of them.

Of the whole 'Herb' series, this is the only one that is actually true to life (though cows are known to munch on the occasional baby chick).
Some large iguanas in captivity truly relish small rodents and may take nestling birds in the wild.
The heavier ground iguanas, like the Cuban and Rhinocerus iguanas are even more omnivorous.
The only lizard I am aware of that is known to be a complete vegetarian is the seaweed eating Marine Iguana.
It is probable that even the supposedly strict vegetarian dinosaurs, like the big sauropods, may have also eaten small animala if they could capture. If it had been real, the scene in Jurassic part when the little kids pet the head o a huge Brachiosaurus, might have ended with the kids becoming a light snack.
