uwu can be used any real way, depends on the context, just as many emoji can be used differently depending on context. owo is the same, as is :D, and :3, and so many others.

As for it being overused, well, it's a popular emote and is rather synonymous with furries and others due to its excessive usage, it being overused is a given :p
