“Do you think that there’ll be a pokemon tournament in town?” Maria asks.

“Possibly. There frequently is. Today’s might be bigger than normal. That said, we are most definitely not participating and all things considered I’m reluctant to even consider just watching it, considering how much of a risk that may be.”

“I suppose,” Maria shrugs. “That many trainers in one location would be extremely dangerous and difficult to keep you from getting caught. Tournaments are fun though. You should ask him for me if he can sign me up for another one of those soon. They’re a lot of fun, even when we don’t win.”

“I can see what I can do. We were able to communicate getting this set up so it should be fine enough.”

As we continue running and avoiding some pokemon that are just lounging around watching the people set up I reflect that in some regards this could end up becoming a rather useful thing for him. He’d have a means to talk to his pokemon directly, either from me reminding him or him listening in. If only I could have control more than a few nights a month.
