I’ve only played one game that Amy Rose was in (Sonic Chronicles), and at the time, I didn’t have much of an opinion of her. She was fun to use, but I usually preferred Knuckles for the armor piercing. Then I started looking into her roles in various other games, and I ended up really liking Amy, when she’s written well (i.e. not an angry, crazy stalker). She’s a friendly, hot-blooded, hammer-wielding hedgehog who’s helped multiple people (Gamma, Shadow, and Silver are the ones I know of) change for the better just by being nice. It’s hard not to love, or at least be impressed by, someone like that. Plus, I like the heart motif, and I think her friendship with Cream and Big is adorable.
Hopefully, I do her justice!
Amy strolled through Station Square with a smile. It felt like ages since she’d lived here! It was pretty boring back then; same old peaceful routine, day in, day out. She’d wanted adventure, but leave it to Eggman and Infinite to make her want the old days back. It was nice to see some things stayed the same; Mr. Know-It-All telling her how to use her hammer (she should really introduce him to Omochao; she had a feeling they’d get along great), the antique shop owner walking down the street, the antique shop owner standing silently behind his counter-

The hedgehog looked at the burger shop. Sure enough, the old man statue was missing.
…Well, that was one way to get a break. She had to wonder how the woman yelling at the statue hadn’t noticed, though. Or the people working at the burger shop.
Amy shrugged it off; she’d check on that later. She didn’t want to keep Big waiting!
It had been a while since she’d seen the cat; the last time she’d tried to visit, she’d found an empty hut and a note saying he was on vacation. Then, she’d gotten a call from him yesterday. He’d had a great time at Soleanna, but he felt bad he didn’t think to invite her; she could have met Sonic Man! (His explanation of who that was just made things more confusing; some people had real problems.) To make it up to her, he was wondering if she wanted to go to Twinkle Park with him. Amy was happy to accept; the park was fun when there weren’t killer robots!
…Of course, the problem with the lack of killer robots was that now she had to pay to enter.
Amy sighed as she looked at the sign: “Cute Couples Get In Free!” One day…
Big looked over the side of the Ferris Wheel with a gasp, eyes as wide as saucers; the view was amazing! He could see all of Station Square from here! There was an ad for Chao In Space 4, an old man running from an angry lady carrying another old man, a giant pool – oh, he’d fished Froggy out of there once!
His pollywog pal croaked in agreement.
Kaa chuckled from his perch on his pet’s head; the number of times Big had found and fished up Froggy was certainly something. It was a shame he hadn’t been able to bring Shadow and Silver for this; Shadow was off hunting Infinite, and the time traveler was trying to help where he could.
Ah, well. At least he still had his cuddly kitty.
Speaking of which, had he spotted his friend?
Big shook his head as he turned to the snake. Nope, nothing. Maybe she- Oh, she was right over there! Hi Amy!
Amy chuckled as she was swept into a soft, fluffy hug; it was good to see him too! It had been way too long. They really needed to track down Cream some day; they could have a Team Rose reunion!
She caught sight of a snake as Big set her down; was he a new pet?
Big laughed. No, he was the-
Very good friend of Froggy and his owner, the snake quickly interjected. They’d met in the Mystic Ruins, hit it off, and become fast friends. Speaking of friends, it was wonderful to finally meet Amy; Big had told him so much about her! His name was Kaa, by the way.
She was happy to meet him! Sorry about thinking he was a pet; she was so used to Froggy she just sort of assumed.
Kaa brushed it off; it was fine, he got that a lot. They were here to have fun, and lucky for them, there didn’t seem to be any lines! Ferris Wheel fine by her?
Amy gave the snake a thumbs up; the Ferris Wheel was fun when you had other people with you! She’d had a blast when she’d gotten Sonic up there with her…
Kaa chuckled. He’d heard about her quest for Sonic’s heart! Any luck on that front?
She sighed. Not yet. But one day, she’d get another date with him, and it wouldn’t get interrupted by him getting sucked into a magic book!
Kaa blinked in confusion. He definitely wanted details on that one.
The three chatted happily as they headed to the ride. Kaa was amazed by Amy’s hammer; he’d never understood how people just whipped out whatever without a place to hide it. It’d be so helpful if he could do that… his only trick was more of a visual thing.
Amy was curious; could he show her?
Kaa snickered. He thought she’d never ask…
Amy’s jaw dropped as her sight filled with spirals. Bright, beautiful colors whirled about before her eyes, and the further they flowed, the more she had to follow them. Her thoughts, her troubles, all were caught up and gently washed away in a blissful stream of swirls. Kaa called, and Amy obeyed, walking over as her pupils shrunk to pinpricks. The colors were even better up close, rippling rainbows filling her with warmth and relaxation. A smile crept up her face as the snake’s tail crept up her body, a soft and slithery touch that had her shivering in delight. Soon enough, she was wrapped up to her head, and then the real pleasure started.
The snake’s body squeezed and stroked, wringing out moan after moan in the best massage the hedgehog ever had. Every touch, every swirl brought a new wave of pleasure; nothing could compare to this! Amy was in heaven, not a thought in her head but of Kaa, his colors, and how good it all felt. Coils caressing her body, colors caressing her mind, the hedgehog had never been happier.
She was practically drooling by the time the snake began to speak: how she was a sweet girl, soft and snuggly. How she deserved someone who would take care of her. How he would take care of her, keeping her happy, safe, and loved. How she could leave all her thinking, her free will, to him. How he would be her beloved master, the hedgehog serving his every need – food, protection, fun, companionship, anything – and how in turn he’d cherish her, in colors, in coils, in cuddles. How she would be pampered pet, putting her master before any other, loving her master before any other.
Her eyes swirling with color, Amy had never nodded faster. She loved Master! She’d give him her thoughts, her will; he’d be her world! She wanted to be his pet!
A final tug on her neck sealed the deal. With a PING! Amy broke out into the biggest grin of her life.
Kaa sighed happily as he pet his hedgehog. Beauty, personality, cuddliness, cute friends; Amy had it all. It had been a while since a pet had been such delightful company. Big was getting such a… well, big reward later!
Speaking of Big, where was he?
Kaa blinked in surprise as he found the feline happily petting Amy alongside his master.
…Somehow, Big never ceased to surprise him. Strange cat aside, he had another happily hypnotized hedgehog to play with.
Speaking of which…
How did she feel about helping him hypnotize Sonic?
Amy’s answer?
Absolutely, Master!

Now I remember. I never used Amy that much after I got Knuckles, because things like his Uppercut were so useful. When I did start using Amy again, it was to get past obstacles that required her, some of which meant fighting Kron, and given how much easier Knuckles' armor piercing made it... Yeah, sorry.
