[Go! Go! Hypergrind: Take Two!] Foo Shu
Guys... this is it. The end of the Go! Go! Hypergrind: Take Two! redesigns. And what a better way to close things off than with the one who finished the run of these original characters in the first place: Foo Shu! Foo Shu is a tiny dragon who hails from a family of heroic, protective dragons who live high up in the mountains. Foo Shu is the youngest and smallest of all of them, but he has dreams of being the best hero dragon of them all, despite being the runt of the family. Since they find him to be more trouble than he's worth, they sent Foo Shu on a bogus quest in order to see if he had the metal to become a proper Guardian Dragon. This quest involves him participating AND winning the skating competition known as Go! Go! Hypergrind. Taking the bait, Foo Shu vows to participate in this "quest" or else he'll return as a failure. He tries being heroic and doing everything in everyone's best interest, but due to this idea of becoming a hero known all over the world he has a bit of an inflated ego, one which can be brought back down to Earth by reminding him of his... shortcomings. This gives Foo Shu a bit of a temper and a competitive edge if someone else appears to be threatening his spotlight. Nevertheless, he fights (and skates) fairly, and vows to win using nothing but his own skills. Also, he hopes to get a girlfriend out of this. Because what hero doesn't have a girlfriend?
Foo Shu had one of the least drastic updates out of all the characters. He actually didn't change very much from his two original designs. While, yes, he does look notably different, a lot of the original elements are still there. I suppose his outfit and gear ARE different, but his body is mostly unchanged- only minor adjustments as well as the change in art. This should also make it a little more obvious that Foo Shu has more of an animesque lean rather than being more of a cartoon character. This gives him somewhat of a fish-out-of-water element since he clearly sticks out like a sore thumb next to his more Western competitors. But he makes up for it with his presence, as well as being delightfully over-the-top- just like his fellow toon opponents. So, I hope you guys enjoyed this barrage of redesigned skaters!
... I don't think I missed anyone, did I?
