I've seen a lot of hummingbird gryphons, usually done with mice and other such small critters. Its adorable ^^
But I wanted to stick with the avian-feline mix.
This piece caused me a great deal of pain. ALL in the neck, lower back and legs. I spent more time hunched over this than I've spent over my homework this week.
Kept the original hummingbird names, cause I think they're neat. My faves are the Amethyst Woodstar and the Reddish Hermit, though I think the Crimson Topaz's colors turned out nicely.

I think that the markings and color balance is what makes that one really work. Although the more that I look at the Amethyst one the more it grows on me because of its simple but very effective design. The little spots on its legs that run down its sides pulls the design together. These are just so interesting and cute :D I may try a few out myself :>
