So,
guyfuy dragged me into a Megaman cartoon watching session last night. I had actually never seen the American series, although I had heard about how terrible it was from the internet for years. By the way? Just so you know? It is actually, in fact, that terrible, end of story. I could hoot about how terrible its for days, angrily and at length, from a great height to be heard by all. Buuuut I'm not, that's not actually what this is about.
Anyway, this cartoon, among other war crimes, has a upsettingly homoerotic pinup of Rush after its commercial breaks.
So, to cope, I tried fixing it.
I tried messing with some coloring tutorials and honestly they pretty much failed me hard, never trust a tutorial (it will betray you)

Just...wow.
I was about to make some lofty argument about the benefit of deciding what one likes by merit alone, or the fact that there's a longstanding history of cross-influence between Japanese and American animation, but I doubt that would make any difference here. And playing the "that's racist" card would be downright uncouth.
Ultimately, I'll just have to be content in the knowledge that your decision to limit yourself to only one kind of entertainment from only one country is really punishment enough.

Cute. ^_^
And yeah, the show sucked but it had a few good moments. They were very small and spaced waaaaaay far apart, but they were still there. I guess I'm just one of those weirdos who waded into the stinking bog to find a few semi-precious gems I guess. ^_^;;
If you want a fun show with robotic (and anthro) animals I highly recommend this show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3Upn0Brj6I Any show where the heros going into battle involves being launched out of a giant revolver is cool in my opinion.

Haha, the story about that series' dialogue is the best thing ever. <3
For the benefit of the one or two people who might not know, Saban bought the American broadcast rights to the series, but somehow missed or forgot to arrange a translation. Due to the then-exorbitant costs of Japanese to American translation, Saban decided to make up entirely new dialogue for the entire series instead of translating a single word.

I wondered...
Still, that was a fun show, and the writing still did a good job of fitting the action, if making it a bit more silly than originally intended. I particularly loved how they would break the fourth wall often, either complaining about their contracts, the stunts, or whatever and sometimes even arguing with the narrator. So funny.

Loved that show so much when I was a kid because I was a total fanboy. Then I loved it again years later when I found out how dumb it all was

Tell me about it. (no really, get on a messenger and rant at me. I need to know so I don't make the same mistakes myself x3) The Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon was like an animated version of the terrible cover art. Something tells me the original Megaman designs would be easier to animate, too. Every stage of this cartoon seems to have been a mistake on the part of the people who directed it. Art direction, sound direction, writing, everything.
But... Rush pinup? What the heck?

Not gonna lie, I am unaware of a bad megaman toy. I was particularly taken with this line myself, kicking myself for not nabbing a metallic X and Zero while I had the chance.
