So with a bit of advice and encouragement from
warwick I gave another go at doing a generic non-inflatable otter. This time the way the head rests on the neck and the neck flows into the body looks better. The head shape could use some work but, you know, baby steps.
I went and made this a marble otter in part because I wanted to see if I remembered how I got that marble look the other day (see https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47456324/ ) and, yeah, I think I have that. Next challenge: figuring what I was thinking with that forepaw. I'm sorry.

Nice texture, and I like your shiny!
I had a go at interpreting your pose, maybe it'll be helpful - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47628952/
I think his hind feet might be more natural pointing forward, and there's still something about the angle of the neck that's tricky for me to read, but I'm not so good with cartoon interpretation - a bit too rigid in my thinking!
