Not meaning to be nit picky but this isn't steam punk in the least. The only things "steam punk" in this pic are the goggles and the random clock embedded in the wood. However this would be more pirate then steam punk, and if you say its steam punk cause of the metal door they had metal doors in the days of pirates however they were only on the rich royal ships and they were made of just iron metal sheets and bolts.
Like I said not meaning meaning to nit pick but its kinda getting annoying on how many people mistake steam punk as just gluing cogs on everything or having random clocks or spot welded areas of brass making it steam punk.
But on a brighter note good pirate pic.

sorry to burst you bubble but this is definitely not pirate. maybe sky pirate, but that's still a off shoot of steampunk, which doesn't have to be based of Victorian era. I had this picture based off of a alternate modernistic era where their technology is far more advance then in victorian era. Most steampunk stories are based in such settings.
The ship i based this off of is attached to a steam powered air balloon, the "fancy door" is like at on a navy ship old, so that when it lands, if it happens to submerge, the hall doesn't fill up water.
Pirates may be stereotypically based on a old wooden ship, but that does not mean that ever picture you come across where there are people on a wooden ship, means pirate. believe it or not, but steampunk people probably used wood just as much as they used metal and bolts. metal back then was expensive and wood is alot easier to come by.
now if you can actually tell me how a drawing i spent hours making for my boyfriend's birthday is not how i intended, i recommend you Don't.

As i said i was just giving you a little helpful criticism. This is something i don't understand about furaffinity when someone posts a comment pointing out flaws everyone gets butt hurt when its meant to help you get better like for instance the left hand is bigger then right hand and the index finger is kinda over extended. I am not saying its bad and i am not saying its "not steampunk I was trying to tell you maybe add a little more to the pic like I don't know try and do something cool to make it more steampunk, cause trust me there are worse critics then me. But like i said you can take the suggestion or not its not my art, however by bettering yourself you can make it better make more people with better comments post, and maybe even more commissions, Now that you said the fact that you made it for your BF that is cool but not a factor in how i should view it. Your bf is lucky however to have someone to do that for him. But try to better the ship the mainly make it look more steampunk i am not saying put GEARS everywhere iam saying like make the ship out of brass or maybe make it look like an Albed ship from FFX sure not really steam punk however, it would make the scene a bit better I am not Grieffing you or "trolling you" just trying to give some helpful criticism so one can better themselves in the field of art.
