Bu and Kee have long since grown up and have gone through some pretty big changes themselves, they would just still be happy to have both their parents in their lives after so many years and visit them occasionally, but Bu and Kee would also be off doing their own thing independently.
You know, your alien-earthling family inspired me to do the same with my fennec fox Nita where she had a baby with a alien, that attempted to conquer the earth, she killed him and raised her half alien son alone, she named him Juneau and he hates bowties thanks to his dad's alien heritage
I’m flattered that I helped to inspire a new story idea for you. Admittedly I’m a bit sad that Nita has to kill her son’s father, but it does make for a compelling story where it challenges what sort of relationship Nita will have with her son once he learns the truth.

He actually knows, the reason she killed him was because he kidnapped Juneau and tortured him to re-configurate him to be a killing scout(his dad's specie have a functional nervous system that can be modified to generate instructions within the individual)but as you might guess, a hybrid earthling-alien nervous system isn't exactly functional or easy to modificate without serious damage afterwards.
He doesn't know however why he hates bowties so much, he starts showing fangs, screeching like a otherwordly creature, become transparent and hiss at the bowtie
