Which has been a possibility ever since she arrived on this world. Going down swinging in this instance is giving the police a chance to do their job, and from what it seems like they are treating this very seriously as is her boss/friend Luke. Admittedly there is risk's in any course of action she takes, but to give up after a single conversation with Rebecca, who may be in on the plot, before the police have had the chance to catch the perpetrator with said individual seemingly targeting Sarah and may not care if she is "adopted" and under the, partial(?), hypnotic effects of one, possibly two, sources that could be effecting her judgement. So, with some of with those thoughts racing around my imagination it just seems like she is giving up to quickly. Alternatively i may have let my imagination run away with me, as it often does >_>, and i am mistaking shadows for reality again. Regardless i'm not criticizing, it's an interesting and a thought engaging story and i do like the characters thus far as i find myself rooting for their success. -Well this turned out to be a longer post then i'd hoped lol.
Hehehehe, I like long posts!
And yeah, it's been a possibility ever since she arrived on this world, just about every day getting compounded more and more until with the mental regression, from a fellow little no less that she has still yet to identify and who is using even worse methods, to practically be a certainty in her very near future. Luke and Maria are a golden ticket in her eyes, with Rebecca pretty much confirming her thoughts on the matter. But, just because she is throwing in the towel here, that doesn't mean she won't be metaphorically waiting for her dirty-fighting opponent in the parking lot with a crowbar...

She is taking the road of retaining her mind, some dignity, and least amount of daily cruelty. There are littles in this story-verse whose entire lives are a living hell that they can do nothing about, endless suffering per the whims of cruel Amazons that basically own them. "Seeing it through", would only be throwing themselves away.
Is she though? From all indications her enemies have shown only escalation, and if they are willing to go to such lengths to break the law i can't see abduction not being on the table for them. As for others in this universe you've kinda illustrated my view point, they gave up and are suffering endlessly at the whims of others, they chose the path of least resistance and are in hell for it anyways. I very much understand its a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" with the only difference in being if one wonders if things could have different had they tried, but its either that or be haunted by the specter of "What If".
First of all, the littles I mentioned did not GIVE UP. Their minds and lives were DESTROYED by amazons. There are some things you are not CAPABLE of fighting or in other cases, fighting MAKES IT WORSE. The vast majority of them did NOT choose the path of least resistance, they had ANY chance of resistance stripped from them through various methods amazons in this story-verse have been known to use. The only What If spectre to haunt the realistic ones who manage to avoid THAT fate involves how much WORSE OFF they would DEFINITELY have been had they kept fighting.
