Griffid" Birds

As part of Darkmoon's early experiments to exploit the enhanced capabilities of zoosapiens in combat, they saw as a new resource to genetically crossbreed species with each other to create even more efficient hybrids, taking as a first consideration birds for their obvious advantage over others in being able to fly at high altitude and perceive targets at great distances.

Combining these characteristics with the equally great vision and agility of felines and canines, a new hybrid species between birds and mammals was created, the Griffids, which as their name says in characteristics and combination of species are similar to the mythological beings known as the Griffons, but with walking species and more predatory felines in their genes, being selected ocelots, lions, tigers, jaguars, wolves, leopards, coyotes, etc.

These, as Darkmoon imagined, turned out to be great aerial soldiers that could reach flight speeds of up to Mach 2 and search for targets at great distances, stealthily shooting down drones and enemy aircraft without the need for intervention of robotic equipment, without the need to apply cybernetic parts to a large extent, since they already had great strength in their claws, just prioritizing connectors on their strong wings in case they had to be replaced at some point due to serious injuries, so they were designated for aerial assault and reconnaissance, at least until they were eventually released by the Sagittarius Defenders and the other CASE operatives.

Lira was the first to be identified by CASE, a hybrid between hawk and ocelot who was sent to steal a relic that Jarren and his first group had stolen from Darkmoon and in the attempt to get Kyler discovered how to free her from her mental hold, She joined his team after discovering the truth of the situation with her species, becoming an explorer and air travel expert who helped CASE in different operations and helped the rest of her species to free themselves, being one of the most loyal and smartest members of the Sagittarian defenders.

Similar to the Aquamorphs, the Griffids along with the rest of the birds have helped in the exploration and study of an environment difficult to reach for humans and other zoosapiens, as well as in advances that improve the progress of civilization and continue to maintain order on the planet from future threats.
