I've always been having this thought in my head. Always questioning "What if Fox McCloud still remembers how to use Krystal's staff, but this time he also brings his blaster?"
I decided "fuck it" and actually posed him myself in such a pose fitting of him using both gun and magic at the same time. Editing is not my strong suit, so the magic effects look crap.
Fun fact: This whole pose he's doing is a reference to a video game cover. Respect to anyone who can guess it.

Very nice. Those particles are bad but I get it, you're working with what you have and I understand what you're trying to do here. Fox looks absolutely in the zone and it looks like a play off of his Assault pose but instead of his blaster, he has the staff in his forward hand and the blaster in the backhand. I've no idea what the actual reference is, but it works here. What's going on with Fox's eye though? Did you alter the texture or did that in post?
It's not that I'm working with what I have. I'm just still new to editing. About the eye, I actually did both. I altered the eye texture of his green eyes to make them more of a shiny cyan to convey his reconnection with the staff's magic.
But the red eye part is done in post. It's a visual effect to convey he's actively using the staff. It's mainly just for looks, he's not really bleeding from that eye.
